UPLIFT, Sundsvalls Museum

Uplift at Sundsvalls Museum, Kulturmagasinet, 27 October 2012. The knitting was performed in

the current exhibition, 40 Years with Theatre Västernorrland. In the middle of the knittingcircle a

beautiful red rosecostume.

Current uplift rate in the High Coast area is about 0.8 m per 100 years.
Current uplift speed in the knittingcircle is about 2 cm per hour.

On the current exhibition Tillstånd, in Turku, Finland  the project "Own our own time"
is presented along with other artworks. The exhibition is organized by the

UPLIFT on Liljevalchs, Stockholm

Uplift, Landhöjning, on Liljevalchs, Stockholm, a rainy Saturday, 16 June 2012. A  performance
with participants from the County of Västernorrland started a new monumental knitting, Uplift. 
A work of art where the place, the people and the craft work together. During the day, nearly
200 visitors and knitters participated in an activity that can trigger a spell. A desire for a rural area
that slowly rises, strong and alive.  
The knitting was accompanied by the musicians Anders and Yvonne Sohlman and Sarah Parkman.

UPLIFT - one fourths missing

Uplift involves 24 knitters at a time. The knittingperformance will take place at Liljevalchs in Stockholm, Sweden, during one day ,16 June 2012. More knitters and visitors are invited to participate during the day. Uplift was prepared in spring 2012, when each of the participants created their own knitting. Medelpad and Sollefteå is telling the story of the forest and the large rivers, Härnösand and Örnsköldsvik focuses of the sea and the coastal landscape. When the four unions meet and knit together their beautiful pieces at Liljevalchs, the "gray stone", Uplift, will be the common theme. Uplift, a work of art created by the place, the people and the craft.

29 maj Sollefteå, Örnsköldsvik and Härnösand Handicraft Societies prepered for the performance. At this occasion, Medelpad was missing.

UPLIFT- a new monumental knitting

In partnership with 4 Handicraft societies from the County of Västernorrland in Sweden, Medelpad, Örnsköldsvik, Sollefteå and Härnösand, and Ångermanlands Handicraft society, a new knittingperformance, Uplift, will take place at Liljevalchs Konsthall in Stockholm, Sweden, 16 June 2012. www.liljevalchs.se
In the form of monumental knitting, 24 participants will show the piece Uplift, with a clear connection to the landscape in which the participants live and work. Västernorrland with the High Coast is the world´s greatest geological uplift. Uplift is a work in which the body's pace, here in the form of knitting, control the tempo of the work.

May 23 2012, participants from Härnösand knitted their fourth of the work together.
